Adult Sunday Forum Class
A Grief Observed by C.S. Lewis’s to be topic for Feb. Adult Sunday Class
The book is based on a short memoir by Lewis, who suffered a crisis of faith during his wife’s illness and after her death. This four-week study, held in the Session Room, will be a self-searching experience about our relationship with God during times of death and grief. It is helpful when anticipating the death of loved ones in the future, when impending death is certain, and when dealing with the aftereffects of loss. We will talk about finding peace and joy with God’s help. Discounted books will be available before classes begin in the session room or can be ordered online. An unabridged version can be listened to at https://bit.ly/3R1y8ur for free. If you want to join via Zoom, please email [email protected] We will have a movie night at the church to watch “Shadowlands,” which is based on this book.

Adult Sunday Bible Study
Meets Sundays, 9:30 a.m.
This class follows the Revised Common Lectionary for Year C. The study materials include the NRSV text, relevant commentaries, and any other informative information. Participants are also welcome to share relevant information. The goal is to have a discussion around ‘the rest of the story’ and not necessarily a recap of our pastor’s sermon. The study includes a recap the what, when, why, and who to fill in the blanks and add depth to the sermon text. The format is a discussion and not a lecture. Jesus and the Apostles frequently incorporate irony that can be missed by just reading the Word. Our study try to find it when it is used.
This class, which is held in the conference room next to the Session Room, adjourns at 10:15 a.m. to give our choir members time to rehearse. Those interested in joining the class are asked to email Bob D’Reaux so he has your contact information on the class list.
