Stephen Ministry

Southport Presbyterian Stephen Ministers ARE “God’s Love in Action.” They show up and are ready to come alongside you–or your friends, neighbors, coworkers or relatives– and provide comfort and support for as long as needed. They are lay men and women who provide trained, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting or going through tough times.
They bring Christ’s presence to those in need by listening, caring, encouraging, and praying. Men minister to men, and women to women. If you or someone you love is struggling through a difficult time—grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, or some other life crisis, Stephen Ministers are here to share that burden by providing STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL, compassionate care.

Watch one of our Stephen Ministers talk about how she is ministering to a care receiver who is transitioning through a diffictult time in her life.

If you could benefit from having a Stephen Minister, contact our pastor (910-457-6811) who will work with one of our Stephen Leaders to link you up with one of our Stephen Ministers. Our Stephen Leaders are Sally Barton, Phyliss Falkenstein and Ginny Prunty. Our Stephen Ministers are Gay Ausband, Rob Bayless, Jean Brown, Paul Brown, Linda Daily, Linda Eyre, Sue Mills, Cathy Urlich and Barbara Voorhees.
