SPC’s new Elders, Michael Dingelstedt, John Ferraro & Judith (Judy) Geck and Deacons, Margaret (Maggie) Lhotsky & Marcia Fetter were ordained and installed at the Jan. 12 worship service. Those being ordained took vows to faithfully fulfill the duties of their office. The installation included the “Laying on of Hands,” in which present and past Session members laid hands on the new leaders as a symbol of the church’s blessing and commissioning. In addition, the congregation was charged with supporting and respecting our new leaders.
SPC Deacons focus on the ministry of compassion and service, caring for the physical and spiritual needs of the SPC congregation and community.
Our Elders share in the responsibility for the spiritual oversight and governance of the church, working with our pastor to lead and guide the congregation.
