SPC members & staff and Brunswick County Habitat for Humanity (BCHFH) staff gathered on October 31 at the site of a new Habitat home being constructed in Boiling Spring Lakes for the presentation of a $25,000 SPC donation toward the building of a partner family home in Brunswick County.
“Through Habitat for Humanity, we are honored to be a part of building community and working toward the day where all people have a place to call home,” said SPC Pastor Carrie Evans. “Southport Presbyterian is living out the commandment to love all our neighbors.” According to Pastor Carrie, this is the second partner home SPC has supported in 2023.
“Southport Presbyterian’s Matthew 25 ministry is in direct alignment with our mission of seeking to put God’s love into action by working together to build homes, communities, and hope,” said Habitat’s Executive Director Carlo Montagano shared. “A gift this substantial reflects the deep level of trust between our two organizations. We hope this partnership will inspire other churches to consider joining us in our mission to end substandard housing in Brunswick County.” According to Montagano the donation will offset $25,000 worth of costs incurred by BCHFH for the building of one of our family homes.
